Don't know how but each session is topping the
previous. What an amazing improvement in all teams this
past Fall 08 session. The level of competition has
risen to a higher degree and it is only expected to
increase this coming session.
We had 142 teams in the Fall and have increased to 158
for the Winter '09 season!
On top of this Lacrosse and Baseball are in full
swing. Up and coming for the Winter is field
hockey.
This past Friday, January 9th, the Rising Stars held the
official opening of the new youth field and state-of-the
art baseball batting/pitching cages. If you
haven't, come visit our multimillion dollar facility.

The second soccer season has begun with more success.
A recreational Adult co-ed league was held in September
and first of October. For the fall season, we have
approximately 140 teams, encompassing all age groups and
levels, competing .
Additionally the
TriCity Lacrosse
league plays Wednesday and Thursday nights. The league
has age groups ranging from modified level through
varsity. A girls league is forming with a little
tykes clinic also held.
The
Pioneer Baseball Association
also holds practices and clinics Sunday mornings.
Beginning January 2009, a
Field
Hockey league will
commense.
If you've been by the Sports Center, you've seen
we are expanding. We are adding an
additional, hard surfaced field using MateFlex
technology. The field will be 135' x
65'. Large enough for youth
soccer, full court basketball,
volleyball, and
futsal.
Additionally, we are adding state of
the art baseball batting and
pitching cages as well as having
paved the parking lot.
Completion is scheduled for the
middle of December and ready for the
January season!
The new field area is also developed
to support additional public events,
seminars, and shows with its own
entry. If you are planning an
event and need room, contact Shari.

The Rising Stars Soccer Club hosted its
first coach's clinic sponsored by the MLS NY Red Bulls.
Will Graham, Red Bull certified coach, traveled to the
Sports Center and led instruction in various
warm-up routines, drills, strategies, and tactics.
Will spends half the year in the United States as a
trainer/coach for the Red Bulls Training Program.
His time with us was brief but very productive.
All coaches left with a positive outcome, outlook, and
carried many new ideas to their perspective teams.
We would like to thank everyone that attended.

Our first "complete" winter season is coming to an end.
We've had a combined two seasons accounting for
approximately 1,500 regular season soccer games, a
number of hours of baseball practice, field hockey, and
lacrosse. We've learned a lot and strive to make
the sports center a place for fun, competitive, and safe
sporting events. We are working hard to ensure the
Rising Stars Sports Center is a place to uphold the best
standards of good conduct and fair play.
We would like to thank all players, coaches, parents,
and fans that made a dream seven years ago a reality.
We are continually striving and researching to host
events year round. If you have any ideas,
comments, recommendations please let us know.
Again, thank you for making this season a success beyond
our imagination. We look forward to hosting more
events to come.
Winter Season 2007-2008
What a success!
Over 105 soccer teams played in the winter season ending
January 13th 2008. Additionally lacrosse, field
hockey, and baseball sessions have been in high gear!
Details and pictures are to follow very soon.
The
Winter Tournament,
February 22-24, provided exciting games with a host of
games resulting in overtime play-offs.
We are now mid
way through the second session of our inaugural year.
We couldn't have asked for anything better. The
Sports complex is booked full with events covering not
only soccer but lacrosse, baseball, and field hockey.
The second session, for soccer, has 124 teams competing
on the weekends. A third session is slated to
begin following the second session's play-offs. |
