Cobras First at Irondequoit Select Invitational Tournament

August 2004

The Rising Stars Cobras took first place in the U18 Select Division at the 2004 Irondequoit Select Invitational Tournament August 7 and 8. On Saturday the Cobras defeated Spencerport 1-0 and the Spanish Coalition 1-0. Sunday the Cobras defeated Rochester 3-2 and secured first place with a 1-1 tie against Chili. The Cobras only allowed 3 goals in for games and registered two shutouts.

Coogan Runner-up at Northeast Regional Goalie War

July 2004

The Cobras keeper Chris Coogan placed second at the 2004 Northeast Regional Goalie War Championship in Rochester. The competition consisted of a sixty second cannon, punt, throw and kick for distance and accuracy and goalie wars testing endurance. Chris earned first place in the cannon competition stopping 12 of 15 shots. Chris finished third in the punt, throw and kick competition. In goalie wars he won two out of three matches for a third overall ranking. In the playoffs Chris beat out the second seeded goalie and lost in the finals. Along with the runner-up medal Chris earned an invitation to the National Goalie Wars this winter.

Cobras Return to Championship Game at Wilson

July 2004

The Cobras returned to the Championship game for the third year in a row at the 2004 Wilson Youth Soccer Tournament July 17 and 18. The defending U16 champions playing up an age group took first place in the U19 Boys Black division. The Cobras defeated the Young Patriots of Buffalo 3-0 in the opening game and tied the Lakeshore Lightning 1-1 in Saturday's action. On Sunday the Cobras crossed over and defeated the Niagara Falls Soccer Club in a game that ended tied and went to kicks from the spot. The shoot-out went to the eight man before the Cobras won and advanced to the championship game. The Cobras lost to the Lakeshore Lightning in the final for a second place overall finish. During the weekend the Cobras only allowed five goals in four games.

Cobras Second at SportCenter 481 Thanksgiving Shootout

November 2003

The U-16 Boys Cobras went undefeated through round robin play at this years Thanksgiving day Shoot Out. The boys posted victories against J.D (3-2), Syracuse Arsenal (7-6) and CNY Siege (10-3) and tied Syracuse Juventis (4-4), before losing to CNY Siege (6-3) in the championship match. The Cobras put on a great display of team work in staging come backs against the Arsenal and the Juventis. The Boys are to be congratulated on their efforts in finishing 3-1-1 against premier Syracuse competition.

Cobras Champions at Wilson

July 2003

The Cobras were again undefeated on their way to a Championship at the Wilson Youth Soccer Tournament in Wilson, NY July 12 and 13.

Cobras Undefeated Champions at Norwich

May 2003

The Cobras went undefeated at the Norwich Soccerfest, winning the tournament with victories over the Calacio legends 8 to 1 and defeating the hometown Chargers 5 to 1. The boys put on a great display of team soccer in capturing the tournament championship .

Cobras Undefeated Champions at SportCenter 481

January 2003

The U15 Cobras took the Fall session at SportCenter 481 with 9-0- 1 record against top Syracuse competition. The team scored an average of 8 goals per game while allowing only 2 goals per game. With this start, the Cobras bring their two year record to 30-3-1, with two championships. Teamwork and togetherness continues to be the key to the Cobras success.

Cobras U14 Boys - First Place at Fulton Soccerfest

August 2002

The Cobras U-14 boys team went undefeated in their five games at the Fulton Soccerfest, allowing only four goals. They beat the Salt City Warriors 3-1 in the final.

The team is coached by Mike Biondi, Frank Conestabile and Mitch Coogan.

Cobras U14 Boys - Runners-Up at Wilson

July 2002

The Cobras U-14 boys team struck hard in Wilson. The team placed 1st in their division and 2nd overall. The boys strong defensive effort and outstanding team play, kept the opposition to 5 goals in 4 games. The boys showed great character in their come from behind victories in two of the first three games. This first year squad demonstrated a high level of skill and effort in the 2-1 championship game against the Eden Travel team. Congratulations for a job well done.
