Chargers 2-1 at Camden

July 2003

The Rising Stars Chargers finished with a record of 2 wins and 1 loss at the Camden Summer Sensation 7v7 tournament July 19, 2003. The Chargers started with a disappointing 5-4 loss to Jamesville Dewitt(JDYSA). The Chargers controlled the first half but only managed one goal going into the second half. JDYSA jumped to an early second half 3-1 lead before the Chargers responded to tie the game. Both teams scored again before JDYSA took the lead for good with two minutes remaining. The Chargers dominated games 2 and 3 with scores of 9-1 against host Camden and 10-4 against the Oswego Pirates. Newcomers Joey Holmes, Luke Bogar, Lucas Boutin and Michael Lynch proved to be outstanding additions to the team providing depth and skill in all positions.

The Chargers Win the Championship at Sportplx

January 2003

What a way to start! Coaches Rick Ventura and Frank Twitchell lead the newly formed U10 Chargers to a second place finish in the regular season and a Championship in the playoffs. The Chargers with members from New Hartford, Rome and Westmoreland finished the regular season 9-1 with their only loss coming to Clinton Strikers. Although the Chargers and the Strikers split their regular season games, the Strikers edged the Chargers on goals for to clinch the first place spot. The Chargers and the Strikers both won their opening playoff games setting up the much anticipated rematch between the two teams. The Chargers Ben Toach opened up the scoring early in the first half and the Chargers never looked back. The Strikers put some heavy pressure on in the second half but the Chargers held their ground to finish the game winning 6-4. Way to go Chargers!

Rising Stars Welcome The U10 Chargers

The U10 Chargers are the newest addition to the ever growing Rising Stars family. The team is made up of boys and girls from New Hartford, Rome and Westmoreland. The Chargers are coached by Rick Ventura and Frank Twitchell. A big WELCOME and GOOD LUCK CHARGERS from all of the Rising Stars players and coaches!
