WE HAVE EXPANDED!
The Risings
Stars Soccer Club and Sports Center
hosted the ceremonial ribbon cutting
January 9th to introduce
our new addition. This addition
includes a third indoor field (used
for soccer, field hockey, lacrosse,
baseball, volleyball, etc.), a
run/walk track, and batting cages.
None of this would be possible
without the support of the kids and
parents, our community, the USDA for
Rural Development, GPO Federal
Credit Union, and Celia
Construction. Our goal is to
provide a sports center worthy of
being noted as one of the best in
state. The exuberance of our youth
makes us want to ensure that the
love of the game carries forward in
their lives as they continue taking
pride in calling the Mohawk Valley
home. We the Rising Stars would
like to thank USDA State Director
for Rural Development Pat Brennan, John Prumo & Gary Robeck of
GPO, County Executive Tony Picente,
former Senator Ray Meier and our
community for their continued
confidence and support in the
betterment of our children.

wait is finally over. We
would not have made it
without the support of
The Community Foundation
of Oneida & Herkimer
County,
Utica National Group
Foundation, Mr. Gene
Romano, Mr. John Romano
and
The Fountainhead Group,
Mr. Tim Reed and
ECR International,

The original
plan was for a
2005 ground
breaking...good
things are worth
waiting for. |
The building project
has been progressing
nicely. At this point we
anticipate breaking
ground in 2005.
None of this would have
been possible without
the great community
support we continue to
receive.
The center piece of the project
is our 45,000 square foot indoor
sport and community events
center. The facility can be used
for indoor sports leagues and
training such as soccer,
lacrosse, arena football and
baseball. In addition the
dasher boards surrounding the
fields can be removed leaving a
wide open space for trade shows,
exhibitions or practically
anything you can imagine.
Outside we will be developing
two multi-purpose athletic
fields and a 3.5 mile nature &
fitness trail connecting with
the Westmoreland Town Park which
has several athletic fields and
a picnic area. The complex is in
an easily accessible location
just 1/2 mile south of NYS
Thruway exit 32 in Westmoreland
NY. We are just minutes
from Utica, Rome and Oneida.
