DETERMINED, INTENSE, THE BEST
WE CAN BE........ These were
some of the team aspirations set
forth by the Attack last spring.
At Fulton, they showed what they
had become.
Game 1 was a 3 -1 defeat to a
talented team from Unionville,
Ontario. In game 2, the Attack
scored a 1 -0 victory over
Westhill, but entered the Sunday
elimination round seeded 5th. In
the quarter-final on Sunday
morning, they outplayed # 2 seed
Fulton to advance to the
semi-final against Newark.
Newark tied the game at 1 -1
with less than a minute
remaining. In the shootout,
Amanda Phister stopped 4 out of
5 Pks, and the Attack advanced
to the finals - a rematch
against # 1 seed Unionville.
Unionville had breezed through
its preliminary matches and won
a bye in the first round. In 95
degree heat, playing their 3rd
match in 8 hours, every player
gave her best. The result ... a
1 -0 victory and a well-earned
championship.
