About Our Club

The Rising Star Soccer Club was founded in the Fall of 1999 by a group of individuals who wanted to enhance the level soccer in Rome and throughout central New York. The idea behind the Club, was to prepare our children for competitive level play. Our mission was to develop programs, that would allow children of all skill levels, the opportunity of coming together to learn and to enhance their abilities. One very important aspect of the learning process is to teach and to have our children understand the true meaning of team work and importance of supporting and trusting one another on and off the field. While competing in state wide play, we look to our children to serve as ambassadors of our Club as well as our respective communities.

Over the past few years our club has evolved in a very positive manner. We have not only grown to almost 300 members strong, but we have been successful in bringing children from various communities together as one. Through the efforts of some very dedicated volunteers, we continue to develop new ideas and programs to bring our club to the front of the soccer community. Our club has opened its doors to all children who have a love and desire for playing the game of soccer.

Our goal is a simple one: That is seeing smiles, hearing laughter and watching friendships develop, because of a love of a game.

Inclement Weather Policy:
It is the policy of the Rising Stars Sports Center to provide an opened facility even in inclement weather.  We plan not to close unless the county declares a state of emergency.  All schedules and referee assignments remain intact during inclement weather.  We make every effort to accommodate changes, however, scheduling is very constrained.  It is the responsibility of coaches and players to decide participation.

The Rising Stars Soccer Club of Central New York is proud to announce our newly achieved status as a tax exempt, nonprofit corporation as specified in Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3) under the category of 509(a)(2) Public Foundation. The Club Board of Directors have worked toward this goal in an effort to further enhance our ability to serve the children of the upper Mohawk Valley. We are confident this achievement is an important step toward providing improved training opportunities, indoor and outdoor playing facilities for our area. Please feel free to contact any RSSC Board member for further information.

We are non-profit but that does not mean costless.  Operations and maintenance of the facility and sponsoring/hosting games and practices comes at an expense.  To aid in defraying the costs we have developed a tax deductible "Banner" program where a banner, typically 4'X7', is hung and displayed showing your commitment to the ideals of ensuring our children always have a place to play.
